Courthouse: Built in 1912, this building was originally located near the present Police Station in Ballance Street. It was closed in 1972 and the Ōtorohanga Historical Society was formed to save it from destruction. It was shifted onto site in 1974, and was the beginning of the Museum and it still stands today.
St Brides Church: Built in 1908 and originally located in Te Kanawa Street. It was closed in 1960 when the new St Brides church was opened. The Society obtained the building when the section was purchased by our first President Mick Powell. The building was moved to the Museum site in 1988.
Police Lockup: Built in 1896, the Police Lockup is our oldest known building and has two cells. It was located behind the Courthouse original site, and is it still currently located behind the Courthouse on Museum site. Until 1926 there was no power in the lock-up. In 2023 power was upgraded and lights installed.
Police Office: This small building was originally next to the Police Station and was used as their office.
Now used as our shed and tool room. Once upon a time this small building was used by the Police to lock up sly groggers while they were being processed in the 1930s.
